Jon's mother's day call

We got to talk to Jon for almost an hour and a half yesterday.  It was wonderful to hear his voice.  He has an accent now and he sometimes forgets and starts talking in portuguese.  We had to keep asking him to repeat what he said, it was funny.  He absolutely loves his mission.  He is sad that it is almost half way over now (May 26).  The mission president called him last Tuesday and asked him to be District Leader so Jon is a bit stressed.  He was only zone leader for three months.  He'll be traveling throughout his mission area now (which is good because he'll be able to stop at the mission home to pick up mail).  He'll still be a trainer with his current greenie companion but when he goes out to travel as District leader, he'll pair up with Elder Schaefer, one of Jon's good friends.  He's greenie will do splits with other Elders when Jon is gone.

He said to tell everyone thank you for the letters.  It is starting to become winter in Brazil so the nights are cold.  The house he is in right now has heating and air conditioning which is a first for Jon.  He thinks he'll only stay in Vila Nova for 6 more weeks before getting transferred.

Anyway, Jon is happy so I am happy.  Love you all.  Michelle

Jackson ate bacon, pizza and ice cream.  We go to an amazing buffet and that's all he eats!  It was funny.  The kids ate until they just sat there looking comotose.

Jeff and Jackson talked sports quite a bit during our visit.  Jack pulled up a chair and watched a basketball game with Jeff; asking questions and making comments about the athlete playing cards that he collects.  It was really cute.  Jeff really enjoyed spending time with the kids.

Girl's night at Jason's Deli.  It was fun.  Boy, we fit a lot of activities and food into 3 days.  We'll have to come and visit again.
